Leadership Development and Team Building

Our multiple high and low-level challenge courses provide an excellent environment for groups to work together, build trust and develop communication in a safe setting that promotes personal growth.

Our staff will work with your group to design a specific program that meets your desired goals and outcomes.

Group initiatives

Group Initiative Games
Cedar Glen can facilitate a imagevariety of initiative tasks that encourage large or small groups to work together, communicate and build inter-personal trust. Initiatives can occur indoors or outdoors and are individually molded to target the needs of each visiting group.

Team Challenge Maze
Navigating the large outdoor maze at Cedar Glen is an excellent team-building exercise. Encourage your team to work together to race against other teams to find and complete a wooden puzzle, or guide each other through the maze from one of the two observation towers.

Low ropes

The Burn
imageThis low ropes course features eight elements, consisting of ropes and wires no more than three feet off the ground. Groups are responsible for each other's safety, spotting and supporting one another with staff supervision, while tackling activities that will require them to communicate, problem solve and confront various challenges.

North Meadow
This low ropes course features eight elements, consisting of logs, ropes, wires, tires and blocks no more than three feet off the ground. The challenges encourage the use of cooperation and require participants to work together as a team in order to complete the task successfully.

High ropes

imageAdventure Course Dynamic Level
An individual challenge. One climber chooses an element to traverse (there are eight options) and works their way across while belayed by a staff member.

Adventure Course Static Level
A team challenge. All climbers (up to 10) climb at once, working together with a partner to take responsibility for their own belay system. Climbers choose their route and level of difficulty as they move around the course.

Giant's Ladder
A team-based challenge. Four climbers work together to reach the top (or as high as they choose to go). Climbers are belayed by team members on the ground with staff supervision.

Aerial Trust Dive
An individual challenge. One individual climbs a pole and then dives toward a hanging target. Climber is belayed by team members on the ground with staff supervision.

Team All Aboard
A team-based challenge. Two to four climbers work together to balance on a tiny platform at the top of the vertical challenge course. Each climber is belayed by team members on the ground with staff supervision.

Vertical Playpen
An individual/team-based challenge. As individuals or with some co-operation one to four individuals climb rope ladders, tires, wooden beams and cables to complete the challenge. Each climber is belayed by team members on the ground with staff supervision.

Two Ships Crossing
A teamwork activity. Two participants climb at the same time. They walk on a wire toward each other, and need to problem solve in the middle to pass each other and complete the task. Climbers are belayed by staff members.

Flying Squirrel
A team-based challenge. One participant is securely harnessed onto a rope, and the rest of the team is responsible for pulling them up the element to the participant's chosen height.
