The CIT program has been designed to help prepare leadership participants to become excellent camp staff in the future. In addition to workshop sessions focused around camp leadership and participation in many traditional camp programs, CITs will participate in a five day, four night off site canoe trip, and earn their Standard First Aid Certification. During the third week of their program, CITs will be partnered with a group of day campers to put their new skills in practice. After CITs have completed their three weeks at YMCA Cedar Glen they are eligible for a one week volunteer placement at one of the YMCA’s 20 day camps located across the GTA. Hours completed during this placement can be used toward completion of the required high school volunteer hours.
Check out the 20 different YMCA Summer Camp locations where CITs can volunteer once their program is completed.
