Self Employment Development Program

In partnership with the City of Toronto, the YMCA offers a 60-week Self Employment Development (SED) program for eligible social assistance recipients. You must:

  • Make a full-time commitment to your business
  • Complete all skills development and training sessions
  • Create and present a sound business plan
  • Establish a viable business

How SED works

You'll take part in two months of intensive business training as you create your comprehensive business plan. Then for the next 12 months, you'll receive ongoing support and networking opportunities as you launch and develop your business.

How to apply

Please ask your social services caseworker for a referral to the program. You must be referred to be considered.

Make your dream a reality. Call 416-928-9622 for more information.
