Ontario Works Employment Placement Program

The Ontario Works Employment Placement Program (OWEP) assists unemployed individuals (currently receiving benefits from Toronto Employment and Social Services) with their job search efforts. This 26-week program provides job seekers with the tools to conduct an effective job search, as well as job development services to match them with employers in the Greater Toronto Area.

Once referred by your caseworker at Toronto Employment and Social Services, you will have access to an employment placement counselor and a wide range of services to help prepare and link you with suitable and sustainable employment opportunities.

To be eligible, you must be:

  • A recipient of social assistance
  • Ready to work full-time or part-time
  • Prepared to actively participate in workshops
  • Ready to become involved in daily job search activities
  • Willing to work with an employment counselor
