Find Housing and Shelter at Toronto Queen Street West YMCA Centre (formerly YMCA House)

If you or any of your friends are homeless or living on the street, you know how hard it can be to see the way out. That's why the YMCA of Greater Toronto opened Toronto Queen Street West YMCA Centre (formerly YMCA House) in 1986.

With funding from the City of Toronto, we help young men between the ages of 16 and 24 find the shelter and support they need.

We are here to help you too. If you or your friends are looking for a place to stay, we offer:

  • A welcoming and stable environment where you’ll find food, support, and counseling
  • Compassionate and qualified staff who can connect you to community programs
  • A safe place to stay and a chance to learn how to find a place of your own
  • Crisis intervention in cases where you need to get away from a dangerous environment
  • Connections to other YMCA programs, including the YMCA Youth Substance Abuse ProgramHealth Fitness and Recreation Centre seven-day passes and YMCA Employment Centres
  • A chance to rediscover your personal identity, talents and potential
  • Individual support to help you deal with your personal challenges
  • The chance to assess your needs, develop goals, and attend workshops to help you plan your future
