For decades, Rogers has been an invaluable partner in creating opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and thrive.
In 2006, Rogers made a visionary gift to the YMCA Academy Endowment Fund. Since then, investment earnings have helped students with learning differences access the specialized education and support they need to reach their full potential. Through the Ted Rogers Scholarship Fund, Rogers and the YMCA worked together for many years to provide tuition assistance and paid summer employment opportunities, opening doors for diverse young people from communities across the Greater Toronto Area and throughout our province.
In 2021, Rogers deepened its commitment to youth success as a founding donor of the YMCA Black Achievers Mentorship Program. Rogers employees enthusiastically stepped forward as mentors, sharing their experience, guidance, and encouragement with young people pursuing their academic, professional, and community leadership goals.
Today, that partnership continues to grow. As national partners, Rogers and the YMCA are creating opportunities for young people from coast-to-coast. Through the launch of Screen Break, Rogers has made a bold five-year commitment to help young people build a healthier, balanced relationship with their screens. Together, we are fostering physical activity, meaningful relationships, and a stronger sense of belonging, while amplifying this movement through the power and reach of Rogers platforms.
From supporting students in the classroom to mentoring future leaders and helping young people build meaningful connections beyond their screens, Rogers continues to invest in a brighter future for communities across Canada.
In recognition of its outstanding generosity, leadership, and lasting impact, it is our great pleasure to induct Rogers as a YMCA City Builder.
