This evaluation session is designed specifically for candidates looking to renew a current or expired award, or for eligible candidates challenging the certification directly. A Lifesaving Society Examiner will assess participants on all mandatory practical skills, rescue situations, and fitness benchmarks required for the Bronze Cross standard. As this is an examination-only session and not an instructional course, candidates are expected to arrive fully prepared to demonstrate their proficiency without prior review or practice time.
Prerequisites:
For Recertification: Previous Bronze Cross certification (need not be current).
For Exam Challenge: Successful completion of the Lifesaving Society challenge application requirements, including proof of prerequisite awards (Bronze Medallion and an approved Emergency/Basic First Aid or Standard First Aid/Intermediate First Aid certification).
Verification of Identity Policy
All candidates; whether original or recertification, must verify their identity to the instructor. Original, copy, or digital copies of identification are accepted.
The Lifesaving Society Ontario (the ""Society"") requires that the candidates legal name must appear on all certifications it issues. Candidates may also provide a preferred name, which may be displayed on the certification if requested; however, it does not replace the legal name.
Important: The last day of this course includes the exam and feedback session, which may extend slightly past the scheduled end time.

The Mississauga Y offers a large health and fitness centre with a newly renovated conditioning room, extensive youth and community programs, and child care services. Camp programs are available during school breaks throughout the year. Free parking is available on-site for members.
