Discover transformation & teamwork

Being at camp is a unique, memorable and rewarding experience. Our goal at YMCA Camp Pine Crest is to provide a safe and unique environment for children to push themselves out of their comfort zones, disconnect from technology, learn, socialize and grow.

We expect all campers and staff to treat one another with kindness and respect, and help others enjoy their time away from home. Our hope is for campers to return home with greater confidence, new friendships, and excitement for their outdoor surroundings. Many return to camp year after year!

Hear from Camp Parents

"To quote my daughter when I picked her up from camp yesterday, "That was the best two weeks of my entire life!"
I could not be happier with her camp experience. I am so proud of everything she did while she was at Camp Pine Crest - she pushed herself, learned resilience, and had the courage to try new things.
The counsellors were fantastic, and it sounds like all the staff were incredible. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

— Parent, two-week camper

"Great experience - this was first time for my children to be away at overnight camp at Pine Crest and they loved it. They felt supported, safe and the camp's values truly align to ours. The cabin experience supported making new friends and having new experiences. Thank you.”

— First time overnight camp parent

"Every year she becomes a bit stronger and more independent while at camp, though. She says the Duchef was the hardest trip she has ever done but still loved it. She is already looking forward to an S-LIT trip next summer!"

— Parent, Leadership

"My child felt so safe and included at camp. They are a different - more confident, happier, stronger - kid right now than a week ago! It is scary to send a nonbinary / trans kid to a “typical” camp, and to send any 8 year old to their first full week away from home! Thank you.”

— Parent, one-week camper

Leadership Whitewater Clinic

The whitewater skills clinic is a program for anyone who is new to white water paddling!

For one week on the Madawaska River, participants will learn all about canoeing in rapids. Most of their time will be spent paddling rapids with brief breaks to discuss how to understand the features of a rapid, paddling strokes, white water rescue, and how to swim in white water. The whitewater clinic is short and sweet — participants are always surprised by how much fun they have and how much they learn. Participants will set up a home base camp on the first day of the clinic and spend the entirety of the trip on the same camp site. The program will start and finish at Pine Crest.

Temagami Hike and Paddle (Girls)

The perfect balance of time spent paddling through the rugged Canadian wilderness of Temagami and enjoying the beauty of Pine Crest. The four-week Temagami program offers the best of both worlds for participants looking to develop their leadership and flat-water tripping skills. The program begins with one week at camp, engaging in skill and leadership development. From here the group will spend one week paddling and portaging through the epicenter of Canadian canoe culture, exploring beautiful lakes. They will then spend one week hiking on the Ottawa-Temiskaming Highland Trail, before returning to Pine Crest for a final week of development and reflection.

Temagami Hike and Paddle (Girls)

We get an extra week of summer in 2026! With 10 weeks of programming, we will be offering our one-week program to Senior (11–12-year-old) and Pioneer (13–14-year-old) campers. It will have all the memories, learning, and fun that comes with spending summer at Pine Crest. We have availability throughout the summer, but some sessions have more available spots:

  • Week 1 Senior
  • Week 2 Senior
  • Week 6 Senior
  • Week 6 Pioneer
