Join us for Hybrid Champions course hosted by the Ontario RDC!
This event is for Leads (or potential leads) in the YMCA Program Leadership System that are looking to become a Certified Champion in the Subject Matter Area (Fitness, Aquatics, Membership, Working with Children (Healthy Child Development) or Working with youth (Positive Youth Development)! This course is focused on professional development, practice, and social networking while providing the opportunity to become a certified YMCA Champion.
Event Highlights Professional Development: Engage in insightful sessions and workshops led by YMCA experts to elevate your leadership capabilities. Practice: Participate in hands-on activities that will allow you to apply Champion concepts and techniques in real-time. Social Networking: Build meaningful connections with peers and mentors in a relaxed and supportive environment. Experience the magic of Camp, this event is hosted at YMCA Cedar Glen Outdoor Centre, where you’ll enjoy the perfect blend of surprise and delight amidst nature. This event promises to be both enriching and enjoyable, leaving you inspired and rejuvenated.Certification: All necessary content, learning and evaluation to become a Conditionally Certified Champion and eventually a fully Certified Champion.
This course will consist of 3 online sessions (February 11, 2026, February 25, 2026 & March 4, 2026). The virtual sessions will run from 1:00pm - 3:00pm EST. The in-person arrival and kick off is 12:30pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. All meals and accommodation (single occupancy rooms with a bathroom) are included in the cost of the course. Departure will be 3:15pm on Thursday, March 12, 2026.
We will be fully immersed in the Camp experience which includes Camp lodging on bunk beds (I promise, it’s worth it).

Situated on 263 acres of the Oak Ridges Moraine, YMCA Cedar Glen Outdoor Centre is the perfect place for children, youth and adults to grow in confidence and learn new skills. Cedar Glen welcomes outdoor education, retreat and conference groups, offering meals in our dining hall, overnight accommodations, meeting facilities and outdoor experiential education programs. Day camp runs during summer and school breaks, and a modern child care centre provides licensed care in the natural setting.
