Get ready for an awesome “Park and Play” weekend—the perfect kickoff to the Winisk Program this summer! 🛶🌊
This weekend is all about getting comfortable in our boats, building skills, and having a ton of fun together. It’s also a great chance to meet your crew, make new friends, and start the adventure early!
Arrival:Join us on May 22 between 7:00–8:00 PM. We’ll kick things off with some tasty evening snacks, get everyone settled in, and go over the plan for an exciting weekend.
Saturday = River Day!
After breakfast, we’ll load up the van and head out to the Black River for a full day of whitewater paddling. Expect splashes, laughs, and lots of learning as we build our skills on the water. We’ll eat lunch along the river before heading back to camp for a well-earned dinner.
In the evening, we’ll hang out, share stories, and get excited about what’s to come this summer—classic camp vibes included!
Departure:We’ll wrap up the weekend on May 24 between 10:00–11:00 AM.
What to bring:We’ve got all the boats and paddling gear covered! Feel free to bring your own life jacket if you have one you love. You’ll also want: •Clothes you don’t mind getting wet •Cozy camp clothes •A pillow and bedding for a twin-sized bed •Toiletries Towel •Head Lamp
We’ll be paddling on the Black River near Washago, ON, and transportation to and from the river is all taken care of.
