YMCA of Greater Toronto recognized as one of the Greater Toronto Area’s Top Employers for the 18th consecutive year

Toronto – December 2, 2025 – The YMCA of Greater Toronto is proud to be recognized as a Greater Toronto Area Top Employer for 2026. The charity has now received this recognition for 18 consecutive years. This year, the judges highlighted reasons including the Y’s exceptional support for parents through maternity and parental leave top-up, subsidized on-site childcare, and discounted summer camp programs, free access to extensive fitness facilities, assistance for retirement with a defined contribution pension plan and educational resources to help employees plan for life after work.
The YMCA of Greater Toronto offers employees a supportive and positive environment with opportunities for personal and professional growth. The Y is an integral part of the Greater Toronto Area with close to 500 locations, where employees work in roles from lifeguards and camp counsellors to coordinators for programs like the Summer Work Student Exchange (SWSE).
“Every day, our team works hard to transform lives and build stronger communities. Being named a Top Employer for the 18th consecutive year affirms that commitment,” said Lesley Davidson, President & CEO, YMCA of Greater Toronto. "Our staff and volunteers are the heartbeat of everything we do at the Y. Their energy and dedication turn our centres into places of belonging and community for all. But their dedication doesn’t stop in our centres. The work they do every day reaches neighbourhoods, families and helps shape futures. Without their commitment, the Y wouldn’t be what it is today.”
The YMCA of Greater Toronto was also recognized in 2025 as one of Canada’s greenest employer and Canada’s best diversity employer.
