Educator Appreciation Day
YMCA OF GREATER TORONTO

Happy Educator Appreciation Day!

October 24, 2024

Child Care Educators are the sparks that allow children to shine. We are grateful for all the vital work they do.
The messages below were shared by families, coworkers, and community partners to tell educators how much they are appreciated.

“How do you put into words the important work and role educators play in our children’s lives?  The care, attention, and potential they see and unlock in our child, everyday, is beyond what we could have imaged. The team at West End Y is amazing and we are so lucky to have our child in their care.”

The Lague Family

The team at the Y have been such a huge part of our lives over the past 3 years. We have since ‘graduated’ from their care as our child moves to a new school, but it makes our hearts so full knowing the impact her educators had on her during her time with the Y. They were, and still are, an extension of our family.”

Etta & Family

"It's not easy entrusting your toddler to someone else, but the amazing staff at George Webster Child Care have ensured our son is safe, happy, and thriving. Every friendly wave and hello shows he's in great hands. Thank you, YMCA!"

The Delweathers

"Child care educators are the big-hearted heroes that protect and inspire our children and bring help and comfort to parents. Thank you for all that you do! I appreciate you today and every day."

"We're lucky to have had care from our fantastic educator, Josey. Her & the rest of the ECEs/RECEs were so wonderful to my son. He's now in grade one but still talks about going back to Josey's. Thank you so much!"

test The number of parking spaces we originally proposed exceeded the maximum permitted by the city of Toronto on a site so close to a subway station. We have heard concerns about this from some members, however, and in March 2025 asked the city to allow additional parking. If approved, the final number of parking spaces we can include will depend on the total cost of the project.
